Hello! My name is Desiré Nesmith and I am a Birth Boot Camp Certified Doula and Childbirth Educator. I was drawn to birth work following the birth of my daughter in 2018. Even prior to becoming pregnant, I always knew that I wanted to have an unmedicated birth. In pursuit of the birth I had always imagined, I transferred my care to a midwife group, hired a doula, and enrolled my husband and I in a childbirth education class designed to help us prepare for an unmedicated birth.
I went on to have the birth I had prepared for and shortly before my daughter’s first birthday, I decided to leave my corporate job and pursue my passion for birth and supporting families full-time. My passion for this work stems from the joy and empowerment that I felt throughout my pregnancy and birth, and my desire to help others achieve the same.
The services I provide heavily emphasize filling your “toolbox” for birth and surrounding yourself with a competent birth team whom you trust in your birthing space and who believe in your ability to birth your baby. It is my goal to not only prepare the birthing person for labor and birth but the partner and family as well. No matter if this is your first baby or your tenth, I am here to share knowledge, answer questions, offer support, and aid you in preparing to welcome your little one, on your own terms.
A birthing person’s body is designed for birth; my goal is to provide knowledge and both physical and emotional support to aid this natural process. In this season of life, when so many things are changing, I will be your constant support. That goes for the rest of your family, too.
In addition to birth and postpartum doula support and childbirth education, I have attended a Spinning Babies Workshop and am Rebozo Certified™. I am also a training Placenta Encapsulation Specialist.
When I’m not supporting my clients, you will find me spending time with my husband of six years and our 2.5-year-old daughter. We enjoy checking out local farmer’s markets, watching football, and getting out to enjoy nature as much as we can. I am also an amateur yogi and love to try and recreate beloved recipes with a healthy twist for my family.

I was attempting a VBA2C and was very nervous. Sarah was smart, professional, comforting, gentle, and knowledgeable. She helped me get through something I didn’t even think I could do, which is to give birth naturally. The delivery of my daughter was the most painful. But because of how the doula helped me, her comfort and confidence and care, I never want to do it another way. She helped turn it from something frightening and seemingly impossible, into one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Thank you, Sarah!!

Katie was so helpful during my labor and birth that her example helped my husband to find his support role. They worked very well together to make labor as manageable as possible for me. She also took pictures during my labor and delivery that we would not have otherwise. We will cherish those precious memories!!

After my c-section, I wasn’t sure how I was going to be able to handle a newborn, my toddler, my house and also rest. Deanna was amazing and seemed to know exactly what I needed. I couldn’t have handled the first few weeks without her!

Sarah Row

Nicole was extremely helpful in achieving the birth I wanted. I couldn’t have done it without her!
